CBTA was formed by a small group of interested people. Their goal was to help provide financial support for the interpretive activities which would enable visitors to understand, appreciated, conserve, enjoy and explore the areas of Calaveras Big Trees State Park.
CBTA is a non-profit educational association dedicated to the interpretation of human and natural history at Calaveras Big Trees State Park, in cooperation with the California State Park System. All contributions are tax deductible.
Member of the Association are invited to attend seminars, nature walks, films, docent workshops and informative walks. These programs also help to train those who wish to join the volunteers who staff the Visitor Center, conduct guided walks, lead campfire programs, participate in interpretive projects, assist Park Rangers in trail maintenance and assist in other ways.
The Visitor Center is operated by CBTA and staffed by volunteers. All profits from sales items sold by CBTA at the Visitor Center are reinvested in Calaveras Big Trees State Park where they fund long-term capital projects and ongoing interpretive programs.
Come join us in learning more of nature. You can be as active in the Association as you wish.
